Dynamic Maps

For centuries, maps have been a symbol of discovery and adventure. Charting new territories and forging a personal understanding of the known and unknown world is a daunting task and having access to hold one of these in your hand is a privilege and the result of an endless labor as our world continues to change and evolve.

Maps have been a passion of the Local Dynamics founders since the company's inception. The ability to pair the well-acquainted-with idea of a visual map with the high-level of interactive delivery of information the web offers achieves a result that is unmatched by any other medium.

An interactive map excels in its ability to present an immense volume of information all the while being engaging, simple to understand and a connection to the real world that can be understood by even the youngest of web denizens.

Below are four examples of interactive implementations by J House Media (Local Dynamics Parent). We gladly cover both our own custom map development and integration with available API's such as Google Maps.

Most of our maps have been built to integrate our custom content management solution Tigeradmin. This allows our clients to have a highly-sophisticated mapping application as part of their site but still have the ability to easily manage all the data contained.

The City Of Norcross, GA

Launch Map!

Challange: The City Manager of Norcross, Ga, after having seen some of our earlier interactive map work asked for something no one else had and we were the team to deliver.

Approach: Using Aerial photography, GIS building footprints and driving through the town in a bucket truck, we were able to develop for Norcross a new tool.

Results: The final product enables the City of Norcross to promote the recent development and growth of their fair city.

Chateau Elan

Launch Map!

Challange: Chateau Elan real estate needed an easy-to-use mapping application that allowed their realtors to provide available lot information to potential clients and give them an understanding of where their home will be located in relation to their expansive community.

Approach: Using architectural renderings of the neighborhoods, we were able to deliver a highly interactive map.

Results: Users are now able to click on a region and then drill down to each individual plot to see what homes or building spots were available.

UGA Athletics

UGA Athletics

Challange: As part of the University of Georgia's commitment to academic development, the Athletics department has built an academic portal that helps to keep the efforts of mentors, tutors and students organized and available on the web.

Approach: As a leading contributor the project, we were asked to provide a method to reserve facility spaces for academic sessions that would be scheduled in this system.

Results: What we were able to provide was a mapping application that allowed the user to navigate between different locations throughout UGA's campus to see which rooms are available at a specific time. When an available room was found they could select to book it and it would update in their events system.

Integrated Google Maps

Integrated Google Maps

Challange: With the availability of the Google Mapping API we are able to offer both standard implementations of the Google Map class as well as custom developed applications and uses.

Approach: We have a well equipped arsenal of various mapping technologies to help us meet the challenges of any project that comes our way. In the past, we have used architectural renderings of neighborhoods, aerial photography, and GIS building footprints to create a product our customers are satisfied with.

Results: A dynamic map is a terrific way for municipalities to allow residents to visually and interactively explore many different types of information.
